Based in the foothills of the Dolomites, an hour North of Venice, you will experience the tastes, sights, smells, and culture of one of the most evocative parts of Northern Italy.

Stirred offers in-depth, hands-on cooking classes using the area's rich and varied seasonal produce under the supervision of expert chefs in a relaxing and inspiring 15th Century villa.

We will immerse you in the region, known for its outstanding natural beauty, historic culture and serious dedication to producing and cooking only the very finest food. Local hunters will take you into the hills in search of seasonal truffles, you will try some of the best wines, cheeses and salumi the area has to offer, and you will go off the beaten track to discover wonderful family-run restaurants. Stirred will leave you not only utterly relaxed, but also trained in the art of truly delicious Italian cooking.

The foothills of the Dolomites set the stage for this elegant and historic 15th century estate.

Villa Casagrande is the proud home of the Conti Brandolini d'Adda family, who have defended the surrounding towns and valleys since the 15th century and still run the property today.

Entering the villa through the imposing entrance hall decorated with giant swords and the family's battle standard, the ground floor has two living rooms, two dining halls, and a designer kitchen with traditional Venetian open fireplace. The bedrooms, complete with their own elegant bathrooms, are each unique in character, style and design.

Outside, you can enjoy a walk around the rose garden after a long lunch under the old silk mills, or take a dip in the 18 metre pool - the perfect way to work up an appetite for an alfresco dinner by the monumental chestnut tree.


Our classes give you every opportunity to learn through immersing yourself in advanced Italian cooking.

Working alongside an acclaimed chef, you'll be able to cook and sample some of the most delicious regional dishes from robust risottos and pastas packed with flavor to rich fish soups and creamy polentas.

The use of spices imported from the orient is so important to the specialities of the area, as is quality fresh seasonal produce, and mastering these will give you a solid base upon which to create many inspiring and innovative dishes both here and at home.

Wines are the lifeblood of Italian meals, so we give them very careful consideration when compiling our classes and menus.

Combining rich traditions with innovative approaches, the region's wineries produce award-winning indigenous wines of quality and excellence, with a broad palette to satisfy all tastes.

Stirred believes in showcasing a range of local wine producers, from well known to the more emerging, experimental wineries, and wine tastings will be an integral part of your experience with us.

Sarah Roberts - Managing Director

Sarah has been involved in food and travel for two decades. Her first venture was launching a cookery school in Umbria with Alastair Little at La Cacciata. She then became a founding partner of Tasting Places, the pioneering food and travel company offering cookery holidays and bespoke gourmet worldwide. Sarah's passion for innovative, regional cooking, locally sourced produce and searching for new or lesser known destinations, drives her ability to create unique and memorable experiences for her guests.

Patrick Obert - Managing Director

Patrick worked in the financial sector for many years, however his true passion has always been in food and wine. His love of Italian culture and the language, which he speaks fluently, have been a constant draw, and like many he unequivocally considers the quality of its produce and variety of its dishes to be the best in the world. Satisfying his thirst for travel, he has now teamed up with Sarah to combine his depth of knowledge with their shared love of food, wine and Italy, to launch Stirred.

No visit to this part of Italy would be complete without experiencing the unforgettable sights, smells and tastes of Venice, so we'll take you to the Rialto fish and fresh foods markets to pick some of the best seasonal produce to bring back for your classes.

£2,400 per person (£250 single supplement)

Price is based on 2 people sharing and includes: Six nights' accommodation, tuition, food, wine, trips, tours and tastings unless otherwise stated, transfers to and from Venice Airport at our recommended pick up and departure times. It does not include flights. Private transfers can be arranged at an additional cost.
